Early Years and Family Engagement
CoMusica Inclusion are pleased to introduce our new Early Years and Family Engagement training package.
How can we support families in challenging circumstances to access music making opportunities? How can music making support areas of child development? What are the challenges in engaging families who are hard to reach?
Led by practitioners from the highly respected and longstanding Loud and Clear Project, this training course will explore these important questions and potential barriers to participation. During these sessions we will look at a range of music making activities and pedgogies, the importance of partnership work, strategies for family engagement, developing reflective practice skills and the learning framework for artist pedagogues.
The Loud and Clear project has been funded by Youth Music and delivered in partnerships with Newcastle and Gateshead Council since 2012.
The program supports the musical, personal, emotional and communication development of early years looked after, adopted children and children on the edge of care, and helps to build and nurture relationships between these children and their birth families, foster carers, adoptive parents and peers or siblings.
This course is aimed at workshop leaders, musicians, artists, local authority early years advisors and representatives of arts organisations working in a range of early years settings.
