Royal Northern Sinfonia
J. S. Bach Brandenburg Concertos Nos 3 & 4
J. S. Bach Orchestral Suite No.2 in B minor
Beethoven Symphony No.6 ‘Pastoral’
Bach’s famous Suite No.2 features the sensational flautist, Adam Walker, whose virtuosity knows no bounds, with the Guardian declaring him a “superhuman genius” with “staggering virtuosity and charm”.
Appointed Principal with the LSO aged only 21, he has performed with top orchestras around the world and in major festivals in Europe and the UK.
Beethoven’s evocative ‘Pastoral’ is full of contrasts; the tender Scene by the Brook, the vivid Storm, the lively Scherzo and the intensely moving Shepherd’s Song.
As well as Royal Northern Sinfonia’s main series of concerts at Sage Gateshead, the orchestra regularly performs at external venues, both nationally and internationally. Here’s what is coming up in the next few months.
