Grammy-nominated songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman presents an open lecture/workshop on unleashing creativity and honing song writing techniques. Open to all, not just singer-songwriters and performers!
Beth will also give ten North East musicians the chance to join her for an invite only masterclass ahead of her concert here on March 16th. Budding singer songwriters in the region are invited to submit a song and lyrics directly to Beth Nielsen Chapman by February 22. She will then pick 10 singer-songwriters to join her for a five-hour masterclass on March 15th where she will critique their songs and hone performance technique. Three of them will then be invited to perform alongside her in a special intimate concert the following evening on 16th March at Sage Gateshead called ‘Hear My Song’. The concert will see Beth performing her own material including new songs from her 2012 release ‘The Mighty Sky’ and also feature a choir of students from Emmanuel College.
Any singer-songwriters attending the above morning workshop who would like to be considered for selection to attend the FREE, invite only masterclass, should register an interest with our Ticket Office upon purchasing a workshop ticket. Then, please submit one song with lyrics and a supporting email with a little background about yourself and what you hope to gain from the masterclass by Friday 22nd February, to a special email address which Ticket Office will give you upon purchasing your workshop ticket. Please include the words SAGE MASTERCLASS in the title of your email.
