From The Jam, The Blockheads and Boomtown Rats Garry Roberts & Simon Crowe will be bringing their collective firepower to Sage Gateshead in December to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of their debut albums – releases that signalled the arrival of these three pioneers of the alternative music scene.
Hear all the classic hits plus some new material from members of three iconic bands.
From The Jam (original Jam bass player Bruce Foxton, with Russell Hastings and Big Country’s Mark Brzezick) have gained an immediate reputation for the kind of incendiary live performances that sealed the reputation of The Jam all those years ago.
The Blockheads created their own genre from a previously untried potpourri of funk, punk and music hall, and remain one of the hardest working groups to have emerged from the decade that gave us some of the most exciting and original music since the birth of rock and roll.
Boomtown Rats Garry Roberts and Simon Crowe, the dynamic force behind the Rats sound, have put their powerful alliance together once again to re-ignite and develop the essence of their music with its driving rhythms and meaty guitar riffs. Their new band performs all the classic hits, along with live favourites like ‘Joey’s On The Street Again’ and ‘Neon Heart’.
