Great Exhibition of the North: Opening Night at Sage Gateshead

Join Sage Gateshead for the opening night of Great Exhibition of the North. Enjoy views of the launch on the River Tyne with the comforts of a roof over your head and a licensed bar.

Enjoy the first night of Sage Gateshead’s exhibits including Mark Fell’s Protomusic#1, Stanley Chow’s brand new portraits inspired by the North in 100 Songs and take a selfie in Northern Film’s homage to 24 Hour Party People, as part of ReMake a Take.

With the action kicking off at 10pm, see the spectacular fountain with soundtracks from Kate Rusby, Maximo Park, Royal Northern Sinfonia and Darkstar. After the launch, enjoy a DJ set from Mudfoot Blaps until 12.30am.

Please note that the main launch of Great Exhibition of the North will be taking place on the River Tyne and Newcastle Quayside. Sage Gateshead will have restricted view for some of the content. In the case of bad weather however, you will be under cover with bars and food stalls available.

Doors open at 6pm. Re-admission is not permitted. Please arrive by 9pm to ensure that you are guaranteed entry.
