Johanna Juhola

Sage Two

Charismatic and playful Finnish accordionista Johanna Juhola takes the essence Buenos Aires tango halls, blends it with dark Finnish landscapes, and rolls it all up in contrasting worlds of sound – by turns melancholy, exuberant, eclectic and just plain cheeky.

Harnessing subtle and inventive electronic elements and backed by the innovative musical wizardry of her Reaktori quartet, Johanna is a well-known face on Finland’s music scene. Her opener track, commissioned for the 2007 Eurovision song contest was watched by tens of millions around the world.

unforgettable and impossibly beautiful.” Anna Magazine

humour, surprises, sensitivity, originality… Johanna’s music is golden-rimmed and sunny.” Trad Mag
