Late Night Concourse Party

Sage Gateshead

Access to building from 11pm

Join us from 11pm for a Late Night Concourse Party featuring King Bee, our Northern Soul Lounge and Concourse DJs.

Toast in the New Year while watching the midnight fireworks and hit the dance floor for a late night party til 2am.

Ticket holders for The Divine Comedy plus Shields in Sage One get free access to the Late Night Concourse Party.

Northern Soul Lounge
Back by popular demand is The Northern Soul Lounge with Alex Johnson and Giovanni Spatuzzi at the helm spinning original 7” cuts. Both selectors are renowned around the NE circuit, playing at the likes of Soul Finger, Motoon, Fuzzy Warbles, The Soul Lounge, datbAR, Mexico70, Great Northern Soul Food, Cosmifrica and many more.

Concourse
Join us for an eclectic jukebox of styles with DJ’s Billy Keen and Gary Williams who will be taking you on a magical, musical trip through the genres with their choice vinyl cuts. Spanning through soul, funk, jazz, electronica, northern soul, house and much more.

Joining them on the Concourse will be the sublime sounds of King Bee. Boasting an unorthodox line-up which includes sax, flute, trumpet, synthesisers and vibraphone, the original jazz-funk/fusion sounds of this seven piece Newcastle based band have recently taken on a more edgy electronic and on occasion psychedelic element. The band’s debut 7” single “Money Gone” scored highly with Blues and Soul Magazine, topped many DJ charts, reached number one in the Juno Bestselling Vinyl Funk Chart, was included in the Craig Charles “Best Funk Bangers” of 2016 on 6 Music, and was also remixed for the dance floor by Smoove.

“A revelation!” – Craig Charles, BBC 6 Music
