A Stage of Their Own
Women’s Theatre Week in London in December 1913 marked the beginning of a project that the Actresses’ Franchise League hoped would change their industry for the better.
Naomi Paxton from the University of Manchester explores the international movement for a Woman’s Theatre from the 1890s to the start of the First World War, and considers how their ideas may have changed how theatre is experienced today.
