Gripping. Original. Edge-of-seat entertainment.

When it comes to defining the space between classical and electronic music, the name most often mentioned is that of Berlin-based pianist, composer and producer Nils Frahm.

Renowned for his unconventional approach to piano music, Frahm blends thoughtful, intimate playing with ambient textures and atmospheric electronica. Through this Frahm has grown a global fanbase and regularly sells out tours. He heads to The Glasshouse International Centre for Music in 2024 exploring new experimental, ambient, and electronica realms.

Nils Frahm’s breakthrough album Felt came out in 2011 followed by the critically acclaimed Spaces (2013). Other albums include Graz and unexpectedly dub-influenced 2X1=4 with F.S.Blumm, both released in 2021.  In September 2022, he unveiled the expansive Music For Animals, which diverges from his previous work. His latest offering, Old Friends New Friends, contains previously unreleased solo piano tracks.

Frahm has scored multiple films. Music For The Motion Picture Victoria was written for Sebastian Schipper’s film and it won the German Film Prize for Best Soundtrack. He collaborated with Woodkid on Ellis, by French artist JR featuring Robert De Niro and contributed to James Gray’s Ad Astra starring Brad Pitt plus Julian Rosefeldt‘s Manifesto with Cate Blanchett.

His 2018 album, All Melody, sparked two-year sold out global tour, documented in the film Tripping with Nils Frahm (2020).
