Bruckner’s symphonies are so expansive and inspiring that they’re sometimes called ‘cathedrals in sound’, filled with both quiet poetry and vistas of breathtaking grandeur. The Sixth, which Brucker deemed his ‘perkiest’, is perfect fare for a chamber orchestra, beautifully complemented by Mozart’s jewel-like concerto.
