Royal Northern Sinfonia

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Adagio and Fugue in C minor
Antonin Dvořák Serenade for Strings
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Piano Concerto No. 23
Antonin Dvořák Czech Suite

A concert of melody and warmth that celebrates the memory of Royal Northern Sinfonia’s former music Director, Lars Vogt, who was to have directed and played in this evening’s performance.

Lars was our friend, colleague and collaborator for six wonderful seasons, and we were devastated to lose him last September. To celebrate his life and musical legacy we are joined at this concert by current RNS Principal Conductor Dinis Sousa and by one of the UK’s finest pianists Imogen Cooper, soloist for Mozart’s lyrical Piano Concerto No. 23. Tuneful mini-masterpieces from Dvořák complete the programme.

Lars Vogt

Remembering Lars Vogt

We were so sad to hear of the death of Lars Vogt – our friend, colleague, a great collaborator and brilliant music maker.

Read Royal Northern Sinfonia’s Principal Oboe Michael O’Donnell pay tribute to the orchestra’s much loved former music director: ‘With Lars Vogt, there was a collective trust and spirit of generosity between orchestra and maestro’
