Classical Season 2018/19 | RNS Minimal @ Wylam

RNS Minimal @ Wylam 3

Wylam Brewery

The third in our new series for fans of minimalist music, held at Wylam Brewery, Exhibition Park, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Karin Hendrickson conductor
Royal Northern Sinfonia

Steve Reich It’s Gonna Rain
Philip Glass Piece in the Shape of a Square
Steve Reich Clapping Music
Philip Glass Façades (from Glassworks)
John Adams Chamber Symphony

Steve Reich created a modern classic with a pair of clapping hands; John Adams conceived his Chamber Symphony while watching a Roadrunner cartoon. But they both crackle with energy and colour; in a concert packed with masterpieces created right here, right now.

Why not check out the Clapping Music App and test your skills? Download the app, have a go, and let us know how you get on!

Doors open at 7pm. There will be one 20-minute interval during this performance.
Tickets ordered for collection will be available at Wylam Brewery from 6.45pm on the evening of the concert.
Please be aware that from 12 noon on the day of the performance, tickets will only be available to purchase on the door at Wylam Brewery – subject to availability.
