All aboard for one of our most popular festival features – a three hour round trip cruise up the bonny Tyne to Tynemouth with live music from William The Conqueror & Rosanne Reid.
William The Conqueror
The Cornwall trio William the Conqueror have been picking up praise from far flung corners .The indie-rock three piece channel classic blues and southern rock through a indie filter, with diverse influences including The Doors, Ryan Adams and The Lemonheads.
At 24, Edinburgh-based Roseanne Reid has achieved more in her career as a solo acoustic act than most do in a lifetime. Among her admirers is Country Legend Steve Earle, who has repeatedly invited her over the last three years to his annual song writing retreats in the states.
Roseanne’s melodic, honest and organic writing style allows her to paint pictures that capture the imagination immediately. This innate quality, paired with her distinct smoky vocals, gained her a spot on the Radio 2 Folk Award Nominations 2015 list, for which only four acts from around the country were selected. Appearances on the likes of the Simon Mayo show, along with her enchanting solo performances at venues across Scotland have gained Roseanne a loyal following that continues to grow.
Roseanne has crowdfunded the recording of her debut album ‘Trails’ recorded in New York , produced by Teddy Thompson and featuring a duet with Earle himself. The album will be released in September.
“An outstanding songwriter”- Steve Earle
“Her singing and song craft displays a talent and maturity awesomely beyond her years.”- Sue Wilson, The Scotsman
