The Bridge POP UP folk club night – help us celebrate sixty years of North East folk music. In 1958 Johnny Handle and Louis Killen inspired by the folk revival had the idea of forming The Folksong and Ballad Club, now known as The Bridge Folk Club which meets every Monday in The Bridge Hotel Newcastle. Tonight in our POP UP folk club, we want you to help us celebrate the role our folk clubs play in keeping folk music alive.

Expect an evening of surprises. We want you to take a walk down memory lane, to the heady days of The High Level Ranters, think on those no longer with us, courtesy of Doc Rowe’s archive and look to the future, sharing our pride in some of our younger artists. Our guests for the evening are the Wilson family so come along ready to sing. However, we know that, the star of the show is sure to be the folk club raffle.
