Smoove & Turrell, the world-renowned soul & funk band hailing from Newcastle upon Tyne headline an unmissable Christmas party. Their music is born out of what was once the heartland of heavy industry, giving them a raw and unforgettable sound now known as “Northern Funk”.
Joining them will be Hyde & Beast and Grey Tapes who will be joining in the celebrations followed by an after show DJ set from Déjà Brew to keep the Christmas party going.
Looking back over the achievements of the first three albums, with records of the week on BBC Radio 2 with singles I Can’t Give You Up , Beggarman , Hard Work and Gabriel and their first ever national playlist on BBC 6 Music with the track You Don’t Know .
Now currently writing their fourth studio album it isn’t hard to see how in a world of throw away music Smoove & Turrell have not only endured but have strived to build up a worldwide following.
It’s through their dedication to live performance that Smoove and Turrell have really built solid foundations, playing some of the biggest festivals in the UK and Europe such as Glastonbury, Bestival & Transmusicales as well as regional festivals such as Lindisfarne and We are Family.
Looking forward to 2016 Smoove and Turrell will deliver their forth studio album.
Plus after show DJ set on the Concourse!
