Featuring cutting-edge creative collaborations shot across the North East, Generator and Northern Film & Media’s Space Invasion is the culmination of one of the UK’s most ambitious Arts Council England/BBC Space projects.
Space Invasion is a special event being filmed for The Space, an experimental £2.5m digital arts initiative developed by Arts Council England in partnership with the BBC.
The event features live performances from special guests Ghostpoet and Raj Pannu (Coldcut) – plus sets from The Tipping Point artists Lulu James, and Jethro Fox. Presented by Hal Branson and brought to you by Generator and Northern Film & Media and featuring screenings of works by SBTRKT, Lanterns on the Lake ft. Novak Collective and Paul Smith (Maximo Park).
British singer and producer Ghostpoet’s Mercury Music Prize nominated debut album ‘Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam’ was released via Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood label and immediately attracted plaudits from press, radio and fans alike. Support slots with Metronomy and performances at Glastonbury, Bestival and Latitude followed. Now working on his second album which is due for release next year on [PIAS] Records, Ghostpoet will bring his blend of experimental hip-hop, bittersweet lyrics and anthemic soul. Visit website
