The Cinematic Orchestra plus Submotion Orchestra

Sage One

Championed by Zane Lowe, Lauren Laverne and Nemone, The Cinematic Orchestra have created a huge reputation for themselves across the music industry since starting in 1999. They created an original film score for Disney in 2008, picking up a nomination for Best Original Score at Cannes Film Festival, and their score for To Build a Home was screened at the Edinburgh Film festival the same year.

“It’s an endlessly inventive, intriguing and rather attractive ambient score.” Sunday Telegraph

In 2011, The Cinematic Orchestra commissioned a series of compositions for avant-garde short films that were performed “In Motion” at the Barbican Centre (also featuring Dorian Concept, Grey Reverend, and Austin Peralta). They have also collaborated with Roots Manuva, Patrick Watson, Lou Rhodes and Fontella Bass.

“An Immensely moving, utterly distinct night-time world which is a pleasure to inhabit…Demands close attention.” Guardian 4/5 | Facebook | Twitter
