The Outside Track and Paul McKenna Band

Gateshead Old Town Hall

Two of the most dynamic, forward thinking, exciting and engaging traditional Celtic music acts join forces in one dazzling and compelling concert.

The Outside Track and The Paul McKenna Band combine a vast array of cultural folk influences in their respective repertoires. Hugely popular as young ambassadors for roots music, their special marriage of Celtic music, song and dance has been rapturously received around the world.

Both bands have been recognised with several major industry awards, including ‘Best Group of the Year’ in the Live Ireland Awards, ‘Ensemble of the Year’ in the Tradition in Review awards and ‘Scots Singer of the Year’ in the Scottish Trad Music Awards, as well as nominations for ‘Best Live Act’ and ‘Folk Band of the Year’.

Hailing from Scotland, Ireland, and Cape Breton, the two bands are united by a love of traditional music and a commitment to creating new music on this as a foundation.

Their blend of boundless energy and unmistakable joie de vivre promises a truly memorable spectacle.”
