North East Guitar Festival 2016

Young Artist Platform - Andrea Gonzales Cabellero

Northern Rock Foundation Hall

Please note, due to personal reasons Giacomo Susani will no longer be performing.

IGF’s Young Artist Platform (YAP) offers much needed opportunities for young guitarists in the early stages of their careers. Participants are selected by audition and are offered concerts at all 2016 IGF festivals, locations including Sage Gateshead and venues in London and Bath. In addition the young players are offered workshops and mentoring. Part of IGF’s INSPIRE IGNITE INVENT programme for new music and new players.

Andrea González Caballero is considered one of the rising stars of Spanish guitar, a fact which her concert career reflects. She gave her first concert at the age of eight and has since been performing regularly worldwide. Andrea began studying guitar at the age of seven with Ana Maria Caballero at the Andres Eguiguren music school in Eibar. In 2010 she began her studies in the Robert Schumann Music Conservatory where she finished her bachelor degree under the tutelage of the world renowned guitarist and teacher Joaquin Clerch and where she is currently pursuing a Master’s degree.
