The Northumbrian Ranters is made up of talented young traditional musicians from across Northumberland. Their aim is to promote and raise the profile of traditional music both in the county and further afield. The group has toured extensively abroad including the States and a tour of Shetland last year.
The Ranters have a unique sound which incorporates both a classical and traditional element to their arrangements and features alongside fiddles and flutes Northumbrian pipes, harp and cello. This results in unique harmonies and moving slow airs.
During the Easter break the students are hoping to travel to Derbyshire to join a local youth group called Fossbrooks in clogging workshops and performances around the local area.
