Posted on 27 January 2014

About Project Choice: Three young people have been spending each Tuesday morning at Sage Gateshead as part of Project Choice, an NHS initiated work placement scheme hosted by Sage Gateshead’s Accessible Learning Programme. Project Choice offers young people with Special Education Needs and Disability a variety of work based opportunities in a safe environment over a period of six weeks.

Tracey: We did some more refilling and recycling. We had the radios and Alex the Duty Manager asked me to pick up a parcel from the Stage Door. I also tidied up the kids toys in the family area. We went into Sage One and saw the seat that has Jane’s name on it!

Sarah: I went on the phone to Bliss to see if she had some jobs for us. We did some recycling and we took the posters to the archive store. We went on the radio and Alex asked me to get a parcel from the ticket office.

Lez: I worked with Kath down in the Music Education Centre. I helped with cleaning the sinks ,checking the soap, hand towels and loo rolls. I washed the floor area and then after a break I worked with John a and we only had a little time left so I hovered the in building services and then filled in my work diary. I enjoyed the break today cause I had a biscuit.
