Posted on 6 September 2017

We’re fast approaching one of the highlights of the North East sporting calendar – Great North Run weekend! However, this means that there will be some disruption around the area that may affect your journey to and from Sage Gateshead.

Great City Games

While the track is being built, South Shore Road (the road directly below Sage Gateshead) will be closed to all traffic from 6am on Monday 4 September 2017 until 11:59pm on Sunday 10 September 2017. An alternative route will be signposted for pedestrians using the Gateshead Millennium Bridge.

Gateshead Council’s Mill Road car park will host the Great North Run Pasta Party and as a result will be closed to the public from 00:01am on Monday 4 September 2017 until 11:59pm on Monday 11 September 2017. However, Sage Gateshead’s car park will remain open and all day parking is now available for £4.80. Find out more.

Pedestrians using the Gateshead Millennium Bridge will be diverted through Mill Road car park, down past Baltic-Quay Apartments and behind BALTIC.
