Organisers of the SummerTyne Americana Festival 2016 are delighted to announce that new artists have been added to the line-up including freewheeling Americana icon Howe Gelb from seminal band Giant Sand who will perform with his special guest Gemma Ray.

The line-up also includes country duos Kelly Willis & Bruce Robison plus Brennen Leigh & Noel Mckay, new folk pioneers The Mike & Ruthy Band plus Gill Landry, bluegrass from Ron Block and a simmering blues stew from Lucky Peterson. There’s even a not to be missed bluegrass reworking of rock opera Tommy from The HillBenders.

The SummerTyne River Cruises return for 2016, with live music from Gill Landry and Miss Mary & The Mr Rights on Saturday 23rd July and Dean Owens and Chester & The Fog on Sunday 24th July.

Of course the incredibly popular Jumpin’ Hot Outdoor Stage will be back too with 3 days of free music to enjoy on the banks of the Tyne.
