In Harmony Pop-Up Performance at Central Station

Pupils from Hawthorn Primary School are this afternoon (Monday 29 February 2016) performing at Newcastle’s Central Station in a special pop-up preview performance of their full concert on Monday 14th March.

Thirty-five school children between the ages 8 – 11, playing a whole range of orchestral instruments, are surprising travellers with a preview of their the world premiere of the specially commissioned piece ‘Tuba Train’, composed by Stephen Deazley.

The full concert performance will take place at the Tyne Theatre & Opera House. Lindisfarne’s Ray Laidlaw will compère the show and the Tyne Theatre are really pleased to be supporting the project, giving the young people of Newcastle a performance space in their traditional West End theatre.

The concert starts at 2pm on Monday 14 March and tickets can be purchased from Sage Gateshead. Tickets are free although there is a suggested donation of £5 or £10 towards the In Harmony project.
