Musical Inspiration takes In Harmony into its 5th Year.
Music once again floods the corridors of Hawthorn Primary School. The first rehearsal for all eight of our ensembles took place on Tuesday 13th September and the children were delighted to get back to their music making.
They were treated to a real surprise when Lars visited our rehearsals. As well as listening to our rehearsals, he played to the children. They were absolutely mesmerised on hearing excerpts of Grieg’s Piano Concerto and we were thrilled to hear the children describe how the music made them feel. They danced along to Mozart’s ‘Rondo alla Turca’, and listened intently when Lars played his cadenza from Beethoven’s Piano Concerto.
After answering many eager questions, Lars also talked to the children about his love of music. He said he was delighted to see so many children enjoying the opportunity to have music in their lives.
Now, Lars is greatly admired by all of our young musicians, and I know the experience of his visit has inspired and excited everyone involved with our programme. It really was a fantastic way to begin our musical year.
