The Music of ABBA live in concert with Royal Northern Sinfonia

Posted on 7 November 2016

The latest event in Royal Northern Sinfonia’s popular Nights Out series looks set to be a huge date in the diary for any Super Troupers or Dancing Queens in the region – and fans of a certain Swedish pop group will certainly not want to miss out.

Taking place on Friday 25 November in Sage One, The Music of ABBA gives audience members the chance to experience all the ABBA songs they know and love like they have never heard them before.

For one night only, Royal Northern Sinfonia will be teaming up with four fantastic singers to perform all the classic hits live in concert, with a vast setlist including highlights such as Mamma Mia, Waterloo, Knowing Me Knowing You and Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!

Taking to the mic will be Jenna Lee James, who is currently appearing as Donna in the Mamma Mia! UK Tour; Rachael Wooding; who was a semi-finalist on Britain’s Got Talent in 2016; award winning performer Daniel Boys, whose appearance on BBC show Any Dream Will Do firmly established him as one of the UK’s brightest emerging musical talents; and Oliver Tompsett, who has played a host of leading roles in the West End.

To extend the experience for concert-goers, Sage Gateshead’s fabulous in-house Brasserie will be serving cocktails and fizz alongside a 70s inspired menu – think prawn cocktail, duck à l’orange and Black Forest gateau!

70s get-up and singing along is encouraged – and remember to thank ABBA (and RNS) for the music!

The Music of ABBA is one of six RNS Nights Out concerts taking place at Sage Gateshead during the 2016/17 Classical Season, which are designed to give audiences the chance to hear popular hits and classic songs with a full orchestra experience.

Tickets for The Music of ABBA range from £16.13 to £39.78. Book Now.
