Folkworks Hexham Gathering
Folkworks Hexham Gathering is a unique annual festival featuring hundreds of young people performing traditional music, song and dance in Hexham and the surrounding area.
2016 features: The Rachel Hamer Band, Talisk, King Cole, Chris Meredith and the Watchtone, Rant, Hidden Hexham performed by Alistair Anderson and QEHS students, 4th Generation, Cream Tees, and Joel Savoy, Jesse Lege and the Cajun Country Revival plus many youth performers from around the region.
Concerts, Ceilidhs, Workshops and more!
Concerts take place in venues across the Tyne valley – including Stocksfield, Horsley, Tarset and Allendale as well as Hexham itself.
The Saturday sees Hexham town centre come alive with performances throughout the town, plus ceilidhs at the bandstand and at Wentworth Leisure Centre – and the festival concert at Queen’s hall – which will feature the four stunning fiddle players known as Rant.
