Perform at Hexham Gathering 2017

Each year we invite a range of groups with different abilities from first time musicians starting out with their initial steps in learning an instrument to members of the Newcastle University’s Folk and Traditional Music Degree, just about to launch their careers.

If you are interested in dancing or are part of a group of young musicians or even if you’re a solo performer, we’d be delighted for you to come along and take part in what promises to be a great weekend of music making with other groups of aspiring musicians from around the UK.

What’s on offer?
Young performers are invited to take part in this programme, entirely free of charge. This includes performance opportunities, workshops, ceilidhs and an exclusive performance by the headline act.

The main emphasis of the music produced within Hexham this weekend will be Folk and Traditional music, however this can be interpreted widely to include world percussion groups performing in the form of a Samba Band, or choirs that include traditional songs or gospel music in their set.

We are proud to say that this event is free to take part in.

The only cost that you may incur is if you decide to take us up on the offer of a residential package for the nights of Friday 26th May 2017 and Saturday 27th May 2017. Please see document for further details on our accommodation offer.
